A first

7 January, 2011

It does seem a bit extreme, but I finally pulled off a double, of sorts. First, four whole kilometres of heroic pre-dawn clunk. These legs are not mine. My legs are supple, or at least compliant, not much older than their owner. I enjoy them. These legs were taken from a (way too) early prototype of the terminator.

This may have something to do with getting carried away on the track last night — we had a fast visitor, with whom I could not keep up (but tried not to let him get too far ahead). I didn’t need to kick the last mile, but there you go, I did. Needless to say, both runs today were slow as old horses.

Okay, so tomorrow I will run entirely by feel — that’s to say maybe not at all.

Yesterday: 12km (4x1600m w/4 min recoveries, 5:43, 5:36, 5:31, 5:23).

Today am: 20′ (4km), 55′ (12km).
