A small mountain and an easy run

9 April, 2010

Not a great deal to report, I’ve been taking it somewhat easy and keeping an eye on my left foot. On Tuesday, I cycled just under 30km on Tuesday and about 20km yesterday, with a five mile run on Wednesday.

Today, I had a lot of fun hiking up a small north shore mountain, Lynn Peak, with a couple of friends. We were woefully underprepared when it came to footwear — snowshoes were really the order of the day for the last kilometre or so. Having said that, running down hills is always fun, and this is doubly true when there are banks of snow to jump into as though it were some kind of mogul event, with trees for slalom poles!

Despite this, I still had the urge to run as well as an urge to salvage somewhat the weekly mileage, and put in an easy six miles this evening.
