Suburbia

2 March, 2010

Vancouver seems to have shrunk, and I can’t say that’s a bad thing. Having felt sluggish and somewhat unmotivated all day, I decided to run with the Tuesday group — apart from the added motivation of running with others, it’s time to start incorporating hills into most of the runs. It is amazing how much of Vancouver’s suburbs can be covered over the course of a tempo run, and I have to say that Shaughnessy is a very peaceful place to run through with all its boulevards (not the choked thoroughfares called boulevards, but the broad swathes of cherry-tree lined contentment all named after various trees).

Yesterday: 3 miles.
Today: 9.5 miles (of which 9.5k in 40:30).
A little slow for a tempo, but there were some hills.
