Shreddy, Leggy, Go!

2 February, 2010

A surprisingly satisfying 10k (6ish miles) this evening. I say surprisingly because running through the city around rush hour is not usually my idea of a good time. However, I was running with a new group (well, some of them new) and we were aiming at something like a tempo pace. It turned out to be a little slower overall, but considering we climbed from sea level up to Heather and King Ed Avenue and there were plenty of traffic lights, it felt quite fast.

Also, it was surprising because I thought my calves would start tightening up, but it turned out there was no problem.
Yesterday 4.5 miles
Today about 7 miles (including cool-down)

Nice seeing you out tonight, Tim. Glad you had some company up front there that could challenge you a little 🙂 Hopefully we’ll see you again on Tuesdays. Note that next Tuesday we’re running from a new location at Heather and 22nd community centre there. Granville Island won’t be the friendliest place for awhile. It’s also quite possible that by the time we would go back to resuming Granville Island it’ll be light enough to start from our regular venue – UBC. This group is primarily a trail running group in Pacific Spirit park and surrounding areas. Send me your email and I’ll get you on the list if you want the choice for a Tuesday (and/or Saturday) run!
